Explanation Supposing Books De weglopers

Nathan en Julia zitten bij elkaar in de klas. Ze zijn niet erg geliefd, hebben geen vrienden en hebben ook nog eens de pest aan elkaar. Op een dag loopt alles mis. Julia verwacht straf van de lerares en Nathan is bang in elkaar geslagen te worden door de jongens van de klas. Ze spijbelene en komen elkaar bij toeval tegen. Als het begint te regenen schuilen ze in een leegstaand huis. Vanaf dat moment stapelen de moeilijkhedn zich op. Julia en Nathan zien nog maar één uitweg, weglopen! Een lange reis begint, vol spanning en avontuur waarin Julian en Nathan intens genieten van hun vreemde vrijheid. Twee kinderen alleen op stap wekt echter argwaan en als de politie dan ook nog een opsporingsbericht met hun foto's uitzendt, hebben ze al hun slimheid nodig om die vrijheid te laten voortduren.

Crit Containing Books De weglopers

I read this book a really long time ago but it stayed with me.

I loved this book as a child. It may be a bit outdated, but still, any child would be able to read and love this book. I'm definitely saving my copy.

I really enjoyed this book. It has an interesting plot and doesn't romanticize running away; the characters face realistic consequences for their actions. This a great read for a rainy day. My only criticism: the characters are a little bit flat. However, this is overshadowed by Ruth Thompson's fantastic writing.

I believe most children and teens have had the fantasy that they should run away from home. This book addresses this desire in an exciting and real way.

An awesome book that catches your attion from the moment you first open it. A most read for anyone that always wonders what they would do if they found a lot of money.

I read this when I was edging into my teens. I don't remember much of the story but I do remember loving it. I felt the need to search for it and recognised the cover instantly. It's stuck in my head all these years so I deem it worthy of 4 stars for that even though my true recollections are fuzzy.

This was my favourite book as a child.
