In Search of Prehistoric Survivors: Do Giant 'Extinct' Creatures Still Exist?
I loved this book, as I do almost all of Shuker's stuff. He has a real knack for turning up some incredibly obscure mystery animals. I think that there's very few, if any, prehistoric species still surviving, but I don't know to what extent Karl does, either.
I only owned Shuker's The Unexplained as a youngster but always knew about and hoped to obtain some of his more specifically Cryptozoology themed titles. Thanks to the net, i have began to and I'm glad i have. In Search Of Prehistoric Survivors is probably the best reference work on the many (and i do mean many) claims of prehistoric survival in the field of Cryptozoology. It's doubtful that many of these claims hold anything apart from the ability to tell us how we perceive extinct creatures

Relation As Books In Search of Prehistoric Survivors: Do Giant 'Extinct' Creatures Still Exist?
Scientists recently found the coelanth, an archaic lobe-finned fish, lurking on the ocean floor, looking exactly like its ancestors in fossils dating back 70 million years. The question this book tries to answer is: How many more "extinct" species are out there, awaiting discovery? Colorfully illustrated accounts are given of contemporary encounters with winged beasts reminiscent of pterodactyls, with prehistoric giant vultures, and with sea creatures clearly related to plesiosaurian sea serpents. Here is the most complete account yet of the amazing discoveries which were dismissed as foolishness just a few years ago.Mention Out Of Books In Search of Prehistoric Survivors: Do Giant 'Extinct' Creatures Still Exist?
