I am changing a wee bit of my review after the re-read, since the ending is now much more clear AND I need to add to my understanding of Vie's characterization, since he is quite volatile in the beginning, and it should probably be a warning.I still loved this book though, and I am definitely leaving my rating at 5 stars. I did back to back, new to me authors, YA, mystery type books and although there were some slight similarities, well, the differences really were astounding.I liked how this read. These were kids but not childish. Not full on adults but I could at least still relate and didn't feel like I was too far out of my element. I could remember. Mature is maybe the right word.This book took my hand and held on tight and just didn't want to let go.I liked it, a lot.The romance, for the most book, high

This place was quiet, and Emmett was quiet, and I was quiet. For the first time in a long time, I felt quiet inside. And not so lonely.I absolutely love this book and mostly its characters. They are complex, they are flawed, they are dumb, they felt real, they have dept and goddamn they make you curse and cry and smile and root for them. I LOVE VIE.

4.5 stars!This book was all over the place, but in a good way. I was hesitant at first because it's a long mystery and paranormal YA, the main characters are about 16 and it has a Foxhole Court feel to it (which I liked). It's also not for the faint-hearted, it's quite dark since it does deal with self harm, attempted suicide, explicit violence... The mystery made it all worth it though. The ending really shocked me, I really didn't suspect that particular character and I still don't know what

How did I get here? I mean I can't remember when I got a sampler for this book but here is what I do know.I left my paperback at home yesterday and started flipping through my kindle app; I had this sampler and I started reading and then, then...I just could not stop. I bought the book and read it all in one go after work.No idea what I was expecting but I was very pleasantly surprised. This put me in mind of Foxehole Court and I Hunt Killers in that they are dark, compelling and unputdownable

This book is One Big Mess, but its flaws are so lovable that I can't give it less than four stars. Star 1: Mr. Ashe can't choose between genres, so he crossed "girl" books with LBGTQ YA fiction and threw some horror on top of it. So much plotting means his characters are fighting their the impulse to kiss each other even as they argue about who had means and motive to kidnap, torture and murder the honor student whose ghost keeps appearing to them. Any narrative would crack under all that
