Even more surprising, Billy’s heart seems to be softening, while Archer’s is hardening. The odd pair form an uneasy alliance and together come up with a desperate plan—an ungodly one. The way of the Lord is to love thy enemy, but the way of the hood is to kill or be killed. With his family in mortal danger, Archer must decide between trusting the laws of God or the laws of the street.

Critique Out Of Books Man of God

A Man of God is a thriller that could be written from today's headlines. It's about a Pastor who tries to do the right thing in a neighborhood that refuses to stand up and be counted. The story takes place in a rundown part of a city that is controlled by the lawless. The storyline is well written and the characters are believable. The book takes the reader on quite a ride and the ending is surreal. I recommend that all thriller readers give this book a try. I received an ARC [advanced readers

I really didn't expect a Christian book!I thought that was a good title and that it was a book about city life & gangs...and it Was! It was very, very realistic. Not simply an idealistic religious book where everybody lives happily after and gets saved, etc. It showed the true side of Christianity the way seeds get planted and lives BEGIN to turn around. People DO get killed in real life. The author doesn't try to sell you on a fairy tale.

Good readEnjoyed completely. Great story line. Kept me guessing throughout the book. Yes I would recommend this book. Worth reading. Kudos

Man of God by Gregg BellSet in Chicago, Reverend John Archer is a good family man. They live in a very poor area filled with crime. When he witnesses the murder of a 14 year old boy he decides to do what most won't, tell the police exactly what he saw. The Reverend does not care what the consequences will be. Soon his and his family's lives are in danger.A well written fast paced murder/suspense. I really liked Reverend John Archer. A brave man that will stand his ground, and his faith in God

An amazing and realistic story about a pracher who had the fortitude to stand up to the gangs in Chicag. A great read..



This pastor who worked at the church part time was having trouble with gangs hanging around his church. He tried to help young men to stay away from these guys. They angered him but he tried not to be afraid of them. But he did not back away from his job as a pastor. He did end up there to be made full time at the church.
