The Witch & the Vampire... Rick Holt is a successful architect. Little does anyone one suspect, he learned his talents at the actual Bauhaus school of design in Germany, before it was closed in 1943 by the Nazi's. He's a vampire. Rowan Broom is plying her trade as fortune-teller in her corner of the Goth club when she discovers that the darkly handsome guy watching her from the bar possesses a literal heart of darkness. If that wasn't trouble enough, Rowan learns through her tarot that the entire club is in grave danger. Evil, in the form of a demonically possessed sorcerer has walked into the club and targeted the vampire as his victim of choice. The sorcerer intends to drain the vampire -- and use that power to kill everyone in the bar. Suddenly Rowan is embroiled in the bizarre task of rescuing a vampire. However, Rowan is not merely a fortune-teller. She is an experienced and potent witch whose source of power is sex - in its rawest and basest form. With the Goth bar in flames behind them, Witch meets Vampire face to face to discover that they have absolutely nothing in common - but unearthly desire. And this is only the Beginning...Rating Based On Books House of Shadows (Enchantment in Crimson #1)

I read this 6 months ago. I remember I liked it when I read it - BUT, for the life of me, I can't remember ANY details from the story. I gave it 2 stars based on my memory of liking it - but if not for that I would have given it one star because it seems to be a fairly forgettable story. I will have to re-read it in order to update my rating & review. This was the first of the Morgan Hawkes books I've read and I love her writing style. The characters are well developed and the romance enticing. Well done.
At the start, I was less than impressed with the writing; however, as I got deeper into the story, I became intrigued with the characters. Rowan is a witch, trying to make a living with tarot and other skills, and rather hand to mouth living from it. Then she spots a vampire at a bar where she has a booth, and finds him frightening but very attractive as well. Rick is a relatively young vampire who tries to fill his "dietary" needs without the taking of life. These two team up due to weird

This is a hot little number with a witch who needs sex to give her more energy. This is one of the little gems from here which is so enjoyable. I recommend this to anyone who wants to read about a sexy vampire taken advantage of by a witch.
Morgan Hawke has been writing erotic fiction since 1998. She has lived in seven states of the US and spent two years in England. She has been an auto mechanic, a security guard, a waitress, a groom in a horse-stable, in the military, a copywriter, a magazine editor, a professional tarot reader, a belly-dancer and a stripper. Her personal area of expertise is the strange and unusual.
I think this is the last book I will read by Ms. Hawke. I loved an ebook of her's The Pirate's Pixie, but I did not like Kiss of the Wolf or this book. Rowan is a witch. Rick is a vampire. They meet by accident. Then get chased around and basically kidnapped by various vampires and other other-worldly creatures. The plot was weak, which I usually forgive pretty easily in an erotica book. However, I don't know why it was an erotica book. It could have just been a regular paranormal/vampire
