Gorgeously funny book on the modes of transport that Brian Thacker has used.The section on the London Underground had me crying with laughter.An absolute delight to read.Highly recommended.

Travel Author Brian Thacker was born in England, but he didn't like the weather so he immigrated to Melbourne, Australia when he was six. After many years working as an art director in advertising Brian worked as a tour leader escorting bus loads of drunk Aussies around Europe. I had intended to put it right back down after using it to make a conversational point, but it looked intriguing and I held on to it. This is the book that got me into travel literature. If you want a good read that's funny and lighthearted then give Brian's books a go.

I borrowed the book from a friend and proceeded to torture my eyes through the night trying to finish it in one go. Totally worth it. I'm looking forward to reading the other books by the author - probably the first Australian writer I ever read.

An easy to read suite of romps in interesting parts of the planet on various conveyances - few are comfy. Humourous, cringeworthy and entertaining.
