Delicious was such a treat to read! Im not usually into the whole baby mama drama, but I think this series is an exception because Ive come to love all the characters in their own special way.Alyssa is by far my favourite heroine in this entire series! I loved the fact that she understood her feelings for Luc from the very beginning and knew exactly what she wanted to do. She had ambitions, brains and an inner strength that I really admired. Her past is a haunting one but she still is able toOK, I love the books in the Wicked Lovers series, all the people are a little broken and the stories help heal them, that being said, I was really frustrated by what a jerk Luc was in this book, I really liked him in Decadent and I like Alyssa so I had some trouble watching him be so callous, but like any good HEA it ended wonderfully. All in all I would have given it 4 1/2 stars if I could have. I really enjoyed it but for the frustration Luc brought me.
I put off reading this after I was a little disappointed with "Decadent", and I didn't care much for Luc and Alyssa. I didn't have any expectations about this, and seeing as I put it on my favorites list is a big surprise, and obviously it's my favorite in this series so far, I have yet to read "Surrender To Me".This really tore my heart out. I have to be honest here--I was soooo disappointed with the hero in this book, celebrity chef Luc Traverson, and to a lesser extent, stripper/restaurateur Alyssa Devereaux . Luc first appeared in the previous book (Decadent) where he was part of a menage relationship with his cousin Deke and Deke's eventual wife, Kimber. If you cant stand the heat then get out of the kitchenLuc Traverson know what he wants and knows hot to get it. He has everything planned out. Hes an accomplished chef, with cookbooks and his own TV show coming out. He knows that he wants to get married and that he wants to have children. He wants a wife who could be a mom like his mom was. Now he has to go to Louisiana to fill a promise he made three months ago. Should be easy, go there and stay a week and cook for a restaurant. The problem?
Re-read ReviewGiven this re-read spurred my rant on dumb Decadent, I felt I should put two more cents in.Can't really add much to the initial review, but I think I'll keep this as a 4 star because the angst is just that good. Handsome, talented, sexy chef Luc gets it all wrong, ALL WRONG again and again, and has the equivalent of a Mount Everest grovel to make. Still not quite comfortable with Alyssa's sexuality, but it really is all show and no go. She is a one-man woman, poor girl. At least
