I love Halloween (its my second favorite Holiday) and I love haunted houses, so when you put the two together in a book, its hard for me to resist reading the story. HUDSON HOUSE by J.T. Warren takes these two ideas and morphs them into an entertainingand sometimes chillingthriller that was a lot of fun to read. Interesting.......It was hard for me to get involved in the story..... The writing is good but the story wasn't interesting for me to get involved. It took me longer to read than other books. Didn't really care for it. It didn't make sense.

Well let me start by saying, Hi! Im back. Im sorry yall have been fending for yourselves in the to read or not to read department for the last week and a half, but good news I am finally well enough to focus, which by default means that the book which I have been trying to read for a week has finally come to an end. (Whew.. that was a tough one)Now, on a different note: last Friday I uploaded a YouTube episode about horror cliches that actually work in books, and be damned if I wasnt right.

I am not very sure what rating to give this, I am tied between a 3 and a 4, but I'll settle for 3.75I love horror stories, I am a sucker for them. Even the cliche ones. I was engrossed with the story and the descriptions of the house and what lived inside it was great.I liked the characters and the plot of the story. It was well paced and easy to read.But If this is a standalone horror novel, I have so many questions that were left unanswered and the ending left me unsatisfied.

This was an awesome read! I read this one over the weekend while driving back from TX, and I was very impressed. It reminded me of Dan Simmons' Summer of Night and Winter Haunting, two of my favorites. It was suspenseful and held my attention from start to finish.
