If you loved the Father Tim books and you love to cook, this is a great book! The recipes are traditional Southern so if you're trying to eat in a more wholesome way, you'll need to experiment with whole grain flours and whole butters, etc. The one thing it didn't have was Cynthia's secret for crisp french fries - although, did she ever really settle on a favorite method?

I love this cookbook. Food is such an important part of Jan Karon's Mitford series and all the recipes are in this cookbook. Even better are the little stories and quotes.

All those wonderful, recipes described in her books are now in their own cookbook. Very well done. Each is extremely easy to follow. If you have read The Mitford Series, you have already read half the cookbook. A great review of delightful fictional town where you feel you know everyone like family.Enjoy the yummy recipes!

A lovely, lovely book. One to be savored and read over and over. Wonderful insights, stories and recipes. Even if you have never read one of Jan Karon's delightful "Mitford" books, you will greatly enjoy this "more than just a cookbook". Lovingly written, with beautiful photos and illustrations, this book offers sustenance for mind, body, and spirit. You will savor the flavor of recipes like "Father Tim's Beef Tenderloin with Mustard Horseradish Sauce", "Cynthia's Deep-Dish Blackberry Pie",

All of the glorious recipes from the Mitford Series are found in this book. I love cookbooks that go along with the story. Jan Karon also shared the writing of the Mitford series in the book. PERFECT!

This is the type of book I would keep in my own library for future reference, so I can revisit Mitford, the beloved town of Father Tim.

Positively lovely! A must for the Mitford fan.
