Michael Jay grew up in Detroit. A graduate of Harvard College, he subsequently earned his MBA at Northeastern University in 1983. His coming-of-age memoir, DOG WATER FREE, is dedicated to his college roommate, Tom Wales, who plays a pivotal role in his story, and who many believe to be the only Federal Prosecutor in U.S. history to have been killed in the line of duty. Michael lives in Idaho.

For anyone growing up in middle class America in the 50s and 60s, this memoir is a reminder of a time when values were shared, safety was assumed, and everything seemed possible. It was also very personal because I grew up in the same northwest Detroit neighborhood as the author and knew the places personally and shared the experiences he describes. I loved it!
