A group of humans forced to flee their planet after an epidemic destroyed their civilization now travel the galaxies in search of an antidote. Retrieving samples of plant life from every solar system, on this occasion Aimee was accidentally seized instead.
Aimee must learn to avoid the advances of an awkward young scientist who seems intent on dissecting her, as her own fascination turns to the exotic young warrior, Zak. Having fallen in love with Zak, she is now torn with the decision to return to Earth or live beyond the stars.

Warning, there will be spoilers.What I liked:-Aimee. The heroine was mildly interesting to read about. I liked that she was actually intelligent. The author didnt just tell us she was intelligent and then have her make a bunch of stupid decisions an actual intelligent person would never make. We got to see the engineer in her take over and figure things out through observation and experimenting. It was actually kind of fascinating.-Zak. I liked the love interest, even if his personality was aA Sci-fi Book With Human EmotionsI didnt know what to expect as I began reading. I stumbled through the first couple of chapters and then became totally mesmerized by the writing skills that were evident.I was also sure that I had figured out the antidote needed, but was again surprised by the skillful writing.The ending was both satisfying and also produced a desire to read the next book in the series.
Sure, there are a lot of continuity flaws, but the story itself is a rather fun read.Just tell me though... did she bring her glasses or not? Most of the time she seems to have no problem seeing things, but other times she complains that things are blurry because she does not have her glasses. Does she need glasses at all?I'm glad for the epilogue. If you wanted to only read this book it does wrap it up in a nice package for you to stop here, but I think I might pick up #2.
